By using Dot Point Proofreading and Editing’s website and engaging our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions govern the relationship between clients and this business.

The terms ‘Dot Point Proofreading and Editing’, ‘us’, ‘we’ or ‘our’ refers to the Australian business Dot Point Proofreading and Editing, ABN 25929835631.

The terms ‘you’, ‘your’, ‘client’, ‘customer’ or ‘author’ refers to individuals and businesses seeking or engaging the services of Dot Point Proofreading and Editing.

Definition of Services

Proofreading – involves eliminating grammar, spelling and punctuation mistakes, and correcting document formatting or spacing issues.

Copy editing – involves eliminating grammar, spelling and punctuation mistakes, improving awkward sentence structure and flow, and correcting style and tone inconsistencies.

Editing does not include content development (except where minor rewriting is required to ensure consistent structure and tone) or ghost-writing.

We can mark up PDFs, use ‘suggesting mode’ in Google Docs or track our changes in Microsoft Word. Unless agreed upon earlier, we will default to using Microsoft Word to ensure you can see and accept or reject our changes to your documents.

Quotes

We provide quotes on all work, if details of the document/s and word counts are provided.

While we will provide a quote based on the pricing structure we determine as the most appropriate for the service or document, it is the client’s choice which pay structure suits them.

Once the quote has been accepted, or initial payment has been received, and we receive your documents to be proofread or edited, we will start.

If on receipt of the documents, we believe the work required will exceed the invoiced amount, we’ll let you know as soon as possible.

If you ask for changes to our service after we’ve started work, the price will change accordingly.

If you require a fixed quote, please send us the final draft (one that is ready for proofreading or editing) to ensure our quote reflects the word count or anticipated working time.

Contracts

Dot Point Proofreading Editing uses emails or confirmation of payment as the contract between Dot Point Proofreading and Editing and a client.
